The next international escape will be to Portugal for two weeks from June 30th – July 14th, 2012.
I sent out a survey to see whether artists wanted to paint in Portugal, Spain or Moscow for the next trip and overwhelmingly, the survey said PORTUGAL!
Fortunately a good friend comes from the Silver Coast and her dad has a complex of available apartments he rents by the week. This means we will not be tourists but guests. Food can easily and transportation be arranged and we can go where the Portuguese prefer to go. He will give us a great deal so that is all part of it too.
We will be by beautiful beaches that are not crowded, and near a fishing village that begs to be painted! Here is an inspiring painting by Ned Mueller
… and a drive to a walled village from the 1100′s. Nothing like it in Canada. Everyone raves about the food so I am sure we are okay there too.
And if we get too homesick for a city we can take a very inexpensive day trip to Lisbon by bus.
